Western Cape Emergency Services said a woman died last night this is after the truck she was traveling in lost control and ended up in a ditch on Haaskraal in Wellington.

The truck was also carrying twenty other farm workers who some sustained serious injuries.

Provincial EMS Spokesperson Robert Daniels said reports suggest that the driver was attempting to overtake another truck when he lost control of his vehicle flinging passengers all over the roadside.

“Three other woman are in a critical condition at Paarl Hospital while the other 17 labourers were less seriously injured and transported to both public and private health care facilities in Paarl,” Daniels added.
