A fisherman drowns at Port Alfred harbour

The National Sea Rescue Institute on Wednesday attended to a drowning incident in Port Alfred, whereby a fisherman drowned at Port Alfred harbour. 

The man is believed to about 50-years-old and he drowned after he fell overboard his commercial fishing boat. 

NSRI Spokesperson Criag Lambinon said on arrival on scene rescue services were dispatched from land and sea.

“Rescuers reached the man and brought him to a shore where CPR was performed but despite all efforts the man was declared dead on the scene,” Lambinon added.
