Abhlali baseMjondolo concerned over illegal evictions

Abhlali baseMjondolo said they are angry at the fact that residents of Madlala Village had their homes demolished by the eThekwini municipality a day after they went to the Constitutional Court. 

The group approached the court to oppose what they call an unjust and unlawful eviction order which was granted to the MEC for Human Settlements Ravi Pillay.

Abhlali baseMjondolo’s Thinabantu Khanyile said the organisation one of the judgment’s that may jeopardize the case is the court applications they made in 2009.

Khanyile added that they went to the court on Wednesday but nothing happened and they will just wait for the date.
