The Cape Chamber of Commerce called President Jacob Zuma’s State of the Nation Address which he delivered on Thursday evening as having a hollow ring to it.

Cape Chamber of Commerce President Janine Myburgh said President Zuma claiming of things like road building success should be weighed against the e-toll disaster.

Myburgh said it was good for Zuma to mention the success in the education sector.

She said in the last couple of years there has been a steady improvement in the education system.

Meanwhile Cape Chamber of Commerce President Janine Myburgh said the lack of democracy in the workplace is now seen as one of the main reasons for intimidation and violence in recent strikes.

Myburgh said the mining strikes are the main concern in the economy of the country and government has not done enough in terms of mediation.
