Meanwhile Cape Chamber of
Commerce President Janine Myburgh said the lack of democracy in the workplace
is now seen as one of the main reasons for intimidation and violence in recent
strikes.
The Cape Chamber of
Commerce called President Jacob Zuma’s State of the
Nation Address which he delivered on Thursday evening as having a hollow ring
to it.
Cape Chamber of Commerce President Janine
Myburgh said President Zuma claiming of things like road building success
should be weighed against the e-toll disaster.
Myburgh said it was good for Zuma to
mention the success in the education sector.
She said in the last couple of years there
has been a steady improvement in the education system.
Myburgh said the mining strikes are the
main concern in the economy of the country and government has not done enough
in terms of mediation.
