The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa in Mpumalanga said it is concerned about the destruction of health facilities during service delivery protests.

Denosa Mpumalanga Organiser Nhlanhla Dladla said the safety of members is a worrying factor when protests happen and clinics are burned down, because the same communities will lay complaints when clinics are not operational.

Dladla said health facilities are important assets not for government but communities.  Health is one of the essential services for a people’s well-being.  Burning clinics can never be a solution for any demand.

"In the quest for National Health Insurance we need to take care of our public facilities” Dladla added.
