MEC Allan Winde calls for money to be allocated to the basic education system

Western Cape MEC of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Alan Winde has called Minister of Finance Pravin Gordhan to focus on among other things more money to be allocated to the basic education system.

MEC Winde said he would also like to see increased allocations to skills development initiatives such as the Youth Wage Subsidy. 

Minister Gordhan will deliver his 2014 Budget Speech on Wednesday in Parliament. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said MEC Winde wants support for education and focus on the economic growth and job creation.
