Minister Sibusiso Ndebele: Corruption will be rooted out

Correctional officials have been warned by Correctional Services Minister Sibusiso Ndebele that crime and corruption will be rooted out. 

This as over 3 000 correctional officials have been charged for misconduct. 

According to the Public Service Commission Report between April and December 2013 more than 171 DCS officials were dismissed, demoted or suspended for offences including fraud and corruption. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Logan Maistry the behaviour of correctional officials has a direct influence on the lives of offenders.

Maistry added that as the Department of Correctional Services we will fight corruption with vigor.
