Two suspects were arrested by the KwaZulu Natal Police after a shoot-out ensued between them and the police.  One of the suspect is a most wanted man and police have been searching for him for a number of crimes.

Information that police received indicated that the suspect was in a car and when police spotted the vehicle the suspects allegedly started shooting the police vehicle.

Police Spokesperson Jay Naicker said one police officer was shot in the leg and a bystander was also shot and injured.  Police managed to arrest one suspect in the vehicle and they found an AK47 rifle in the vehicle.

Naicker said the main suspect managed to flee and hid in an informal settlement which then police cordoned off the informal settlement and searched all the dwellings until they found the suspect hiding in one of the dwellings.
