WCED concerned about gang violence in Manenberg

The Western Cape Department of Education officials today met to discuss implementation of a plan to increase security in and around five Manenberg Schools. 

This as recently there has been an increase in gang violence in the area. The WCED said it is concerned about the safety of learners and educators. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronagh Casey said SAPS outlined a two week plan which will show visibility and patrolling.

Casey said they are aiming to deploy more police officers and the department will support this plan all the way.
