Woman arrested for drug stash

Police in KwaZulu-Natal conducted an operation that led to the arrest of a 41 year old woman for possession of a huge batch of dagga.

Colonel Jay Naicker said it is alleged that when police swooped on the homestead they discovered 163 bags of dagga stashed in one of the houses on the premises.

He also said the total weight of the drugs is 1 723, 67 kg and is estimated to have a street value of R1, 72 million.

“Police searched another house on the homestead and found three 458 Winchester Magnum rounds.” Naicker added.

She is expected to appear in the Emanguzi Magistrate's Court on Monday, on dealing in drugs and illegal possession of ammunition charges.
