A call by the ACDP to criminalise gangs

The African Christian Democratic Party in The Western Cape has called for the criminalisation of gangs. 

ACDP Provincial Leader Ferlon Christians said something needs to be done to deter learners of becoming gang members. 

The ACDP has also called for schools to expand after school programmes that keep youth active and challenged. 

Christians said one of the ways to reduce the violence in the township is to criminalise gangs.  Police also need to increase patrols at the five Manenberg schools which have been affected by gang violence.
