The African Christian Democratic Party in the Western Cape has called on Mayor Patricia de Lille to intervene in the case of a traffic officer who alleged that she was fired for doing her job.

ACDP Provincial Leader Ferlon Christians said this is not the first time that they have problems in the safety and security department.

Christians said Mayor De Lille needs to please intervene and see what the problems is and also get a full scale disciplinary action done and an investigation done.

The officer claims she was dismissed in December last year for gross disobedience after she fined a motorist caught driving without a valid license.

The case has since been sent to the bargaining council.
