Five people arrested for fraud

Five suspects aged between 23 and 55-years-old were arrested for fraud and theft regarding social grants. 

The suspects allegedly represented themselves as SA Social Security Agency when they visited a woman in KwaDabeka. 

Police Spokesperson Jay Naicker said the suspects took the woman’s identity document, bank cards, two social grant cards and R5 700. 

“They were arrested for theft and the suspects will be charged for fraud and theft will appear at the Pinetown Magistrates’ Court today,” Naicker added.
