Four suspects aged between 22 and 26-years-old were arrested this week for theft of a motor vehicle.

It is alleged that the suspects stole the vehicle while the owner was inside a cricket stadium watching the game.

Police Spokesperson Jay Naicker said he reported the matter to Pinetown police station where a case of stolen motor vehicle was opened.

“Police also realise that the vehicle was fitted for the tracking device and the members of the Pinetown police and K-9 unit went to check the vehicle to the Westville area.

They found the vehicle and the suspects at one of the petrol service stations in Westville. They later discovered that the suspect in the vehicle was there to hand over the vehicle to three other men who were intended to buy the vehicle.” Naicker added.

The four suspects are expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate Court soon on a charge of theft of a motor vehicle.
