MEC Winde concerned about the shortage of skills in financial services

Western Cape government says a lack of skills in financial services in the province has been listed as a critical issue.

Western Cape MEC of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Alan Winde said proposed skills development initiatives will equip young people with the skills needed. 

MEC Winde said skills development is one of the province’s key focus areas. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said there is a lack skills in the financial sector and because this is one of the Western Cape key areas.

Jooste added that the province along the University of Cape Town will spend R300 million in the next three years in campaigns of skills development in various sector.
