One child died, and three family members injured in an accident

ER24 paramedics attended to an accident late Thursday after on the N14 near Diepsloot whereby a 12-year-old girl was killed and her mother and two siblings were left injured. 

It is believed that the vehicle they were traveling in overturned. 

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics immediately assessed the family, who were ejected from the vehicle, and discovered that one of the children showed no signs of life.

“Resuscitation of the child ensued immediately but was unsuccessful. She was declared dead on scene. Her family members were treated for the moderate injuries they sustained and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.” Miering added.

The cause of the collision is unknown and investigations are underway.
