Two people arrested for illegal firearms and hijacked vehicle

Two suspects were arrested by Tongaat police for being in possession of illegal firearms and a hijacked car. 

Police Spokesperson Jay Naicker said while police were doing normal patrol duties they noticed a suspicious looking motor vehicle and proceeded to the vehicle. The suspects noticed the police and a chase ensued which led to the arrest of the suspects.

Naicker said when police searched the vehicle after the arrest they found two firearms a revolver and AK 44.

"Both suspects were arrested charged for being in possession of suspected stolen property, possession of unlicensed firearms and car hijacking. They are expected to appear in court soon" Naicker added.
