The Democratic Alliance said it is
concerned by the Security Cluster requesting further clarity from Public
Protector Thuli Madonsela on her report into Nkandla.
DA Parliamentary Leader Lindiwe
Mazibuko said this threat by the Security Cluster is nothing more than a last
ditch attempt to protect President Jacob Zuma from being held accountable.
Mazibuko’s Spokesperson Siviwe
Gwarube said the Security Cluster had enough opportunity to make their
submissions to the Public Protector in response to her report. In fact, you
will recall that they abused this process by deliberately delaying the release
of this report using a court interdict during her investigation.
“To demand another opportunity for
clarification in this regard is a desperate attempt to
distract from the now imminent parliamentary process. In the meantime the security cluster
must back and let Parliament do it's work” Gwarube added.
