The Western Cape Department of Health on Thursday said the Du-Noon Community Health Centre is expected to open for patients in August.  The centre is currently under construction and will be finished at the end of May.

Provincial MEC of Health Thenus Botha said the centre will assist in decreasing the patient load at Somerset Hospital.  Botha said the number of staff working at the health facility will increase from 40 to 189.

Ministerial Spokesperson Helene Rossouw said that is very trendy modern facility and has been appointed for the world capital design 2014 project.

“It is a 68 million construction and the health technology budget for it is almost 16 million” said Rossouw.
