One died and three were left injured in a collision in Virginia

An accident this afternoon left one person dead and three others critically injured on the N1 in Winburg. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said a vehicle was traveling towards Virginia when it veered off the road and overturned several times before coming to a halt. 

Botha added that when they arrived on the scene they found that an elderly female had tragically died due to the very severe injuries she had sustained.

“Another female was in a critical condition, she was airlifted to hospital by a helicopter. Two other people were injured and they were all stabilized on scene and transported through to a nearby hospital for further medical care,” Botha said.
