Accident leaves one dead and four critically injured

An accident this afternoon on the M4 near the Blue Lagoon Bridge left one person dead and four others critically injured.

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said three motor vehicles and a motorbike collided.

Botha said two of the motor vehicles burst flames fortunately the people escaped while all the cars were fully engulfed. Tragically the biker died on scene due to very severe injuries he sustained.

“The two others people are in a serious condition while the other two escaped with relatively minor injuries. They were all treated on scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further care Botha added.
