According to the African Christian Democratic Party’s Chairman Grant Haskin said lack of finances is one of the main reasons the party did not perform well in the fifth general elections last week.

Haskin was addressing a press conference at the Western Cape Provincial Legislature on Wednesday.

He says the party does not have formalized structures, full time paid party members across the Western Cape who they can rely on to grow the party’s structures, the presence and the impact in the communities.

The ACDP secured only one seat in Provincial Legislature.

Haskin said “we are disappointed with the results. We were aiming for a far greater percentage, a far greater number of votes and a far better showing in terms of our visibility”.

Meanwhile the party has vowed to fix its structures. The ACDP Western Cape leader, Ferlon Christians says the party will show improvement in the 2016 municipal elections and the 2019, 6th general elections.
