Three week long bus strike comes to an end

Parties of the South African Road Passenger Bargaining Council managed to avert a national bus strike.

A three week long national bus strike in April came to an end after all parties agreed to a 9.5 percent wage increase for the next 12 months with effect from the 1st of July 2014. 

SARPBAC Spokesperson Gary Wilson said Cosatu agreed on the last hour to a settlement that was offered by the council.

“The agreement between all three trade union was signed yesterday Wilson added.
