The Western Cape Liquor Authority has shut down a Wynberg nightclub after breaking several liquor laws.

MEC of Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism Alan Winde said his department will use all the powers at its disposal to bring liquor licence holders who contravene the law to book.

Ministerial Spokesperson Bronwynne Jooste said they are sending a clear message that irresponsible trading will not be tolerated.

“Licences outlets who breaks liquor laws will face harsh penalties or even closure.” Jooste added.
