A man in a critical condition after being shot

ER24 paramedics responded to a shooting incident which took place at the Main and Victoria Roads intersection in Somerset where a man was shot in the abdomen and left critically injured.   

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics found a groups of police officers on the scene, the patient was lying on his back in a pool of blood.

He also said the man was stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital for further care.  

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
