The African Christian Democratic Party in
the Western Cape said it is shocked at a survey conducted by provincial
government that showed that farmworkers still earn below R3 000 per month.
ACDP Provincial Leader Ferlon Christians
said it is disturbing that the conditions of farmworkers after 20-years of
democracy have not changed much.
Christians said we asking the Provincial
Minister of Agriculture and the Department to setup a strategic plan on how
they going to assist these farm workers. I cannot believe that after 20 years
of democracy that those people are still living in those conditions.
“ As the leader of the ACDP in the Western Cape I will take it up
myself to the Minister of Agriculture but also asking the Minister of
Agriculture to do something about this situation ion order for farm workers to
truly experience and live in freedom Christians added.
