Cosatu claim that white farmers are paying
less at the toll then poor workers and motorists. Cosatu Provincial Secretary
Solly Phetoe said it cannot be right that rich people pay less while the poor
pays the balance.
We have realised that the fund that was
confirm by SANRAL that most of the farmers are paying R4 they’ve been given a
discount between 95% which means they
pay between R3 and R4 while poor workers are paying that R75.
“This means that the poor farm workers,
working class and motorists are paying the balance for the farmers. Therefore
as COSATU we’ll continue with our fight in order for everyone to live equally
Phetoe added.
