NUM shocked by its member’s suicide

The National Union of Mineworkers in the Eastern Cape has expressed its shock at the passing on one of its member in Cofimvabe. 

It is alleged that the member committed suicide after he was dismissed from Eskom and was also under investigation. 

Acting NUM National Spokesperson Livhuwani Mammburu said the deceased allegedly committed suicide on Friday last week after he was threatened with dismissal by Eskom management.

“We are requesting that Eskom investigate this allegation as soon as possible Mammburu added.
