Three children died in a shack fire in Kroonstad

Three children aged between 7, 8 and 11-years-old died in a shack fire in Snake Park Kroonstad on Sunday. 

It is believed that the mother locked the children inside the shack with the stove on while she went shopping. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said on arrival the fire department fought the fire for some time.

Botha said when they eventually managed to put the fire out they found that the children burnt and died in the fire.

An investigation is currently underway.
