NSRI rescues father and son off-shore of DeBakke

The National Sea Rescue Institute in Mossel Bay on Wednesday responded to an incident whereby a father and his son lost motor power off-shore of DeBakke. 

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said a eye-witness saw the two were drifting away after the were swept by a wave and experienced problems aboard with they motor power. 

Lambinon said the NSRI were on the water at the time of the incident conducted a exercise when they diverted to the scene and found the father and son on board the pencil duck.

“The NSRI towed them back to the harbour without incident and the two suffered no injuries and no further assistance was needed” Lambinon added.
