The African National Congress in the Western Cape has rejected the
Democratic Alliance’s statement that the programme to find and arrest child
maintenance defaulters was a project started by the provincial government.
ANC’s Marius Fransman said these claims are
baseless and not true as Operation Isondlo is a national project.
Fransman said Operation Isondlo which is a
brilliant programme was initiated by the Justice and Constitutional Development,
and the public needs to support this programme.
“We are concerned that there is insignificant
politics at play in it and we are also rejecting the notion that it is a provincial
programme while in fact it is a national project” Fransman added.
