The Democratic Alliance has called for a national debate on the future of Eskom.

This as the country expressed massive load-shedding a week ago following the collapse of a coal silo at the Majuba power station in Mpumalanga.

DA MP of Public Enterprises Natasha Michael said Eskom’s inability to power our economy is the biggest inhibiter to job creation and economic growth in the country.

Micheal added our country is now in a National Energy crises Moody's has downgraded Eskom to virtually bank status.

This is a huge hindrance in job creation and the gross of our economic growing forward, and as country, we need to have a full and open robust debate about the state of Eskom’s and the plans that’s going to work.” Michael added.
