Police operation in Mitchell’s Plain leads to 40 suspects being arrested

Mitchell’s Plain Police Cluster over the last week conducted several operations in the area. 

Eight operations were conducted which led to 40 suspects being arrested for various crimes. 

Six firearms and several ammunitions were confiscated during the raids which took place in several houses in Mitchell’s Plain. 

Captain FC van Wyk said during the past week 67 houses were searched for drugs, whereby 158 suspects were arrested.

Van Wyk added that drugs confiscated included 21 heroin units, 325 packets of tik, 271 mandrax tablets and 1 135 g of dagga.

 “The Mitchell’s Plain cluster police management want to thank all community structures of Mitchell’s Plain who joined the South African Police Service in combating crime, further we urge the community to remain vigilant.” Van Wyk said.
