Six people were injured this morning,two of them critically,after two vehicles collided on the N2 near Plettenberg in the Western Cape.
Shortly
before 1015 paramedics arrived on scene and found the two motor vehicles lying
in the middle of the road.

Spokesperson Russel Meiring said on
assessment, paramedics found that two of the patients lay trapped within the
vehicles.
Meiring said
the remaining patients were found
sitting next to their vehicles.
Meiring said
Rescue workers had to use the
jaws-of-life equipment to free the patients from their vehicle before treatment
could continue.
Meiring said
once freed, paramedics provided the
patients with advanced life support to stabilise the patient’s vital signs.
Meiring said
a medical helicopter was called to
the scene to assist in transporting one of the critically injured patients to
hospital.
Meiring said
the remaining patients were
transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment.
“The
cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for
further investigations Meiring added.
