The African National Congress Women’s League today said it is disappointed at the Shrien Dewani judgement.

The Western Cape High Court ruled that Dewani be dismissed on a charge of murdering his wife Anni while the couple were on honeymoon in Cape Town in 2010.

ANC’s Women’s League Spokesperson Khusela Sangoni said the country has worked hard in getting Dewani to stand trial in the South Africa and for him to be set free.

Sangoni said we believe that Anni Dewani’s family must find justice and as a women’s league we are going to study the judgment.

Sangoni said only on the basis of this study we’ll be able to comment further on what steps we will want to take regarding this judgement.

“We hope that soon we can bring about closure to the Dewani family particularly during the sixteen days of activism for violence against women and children Sangoni added.
