Congress of South African Trade Unions in
Free State has urged road users to be more vigilant in the upcoming holiday and
calls upon the community to donate blood to save lives.
On the N1
between Bloemfontein and Johannesburg, more than 800 vehicles are driving past
the Grasmere toll plaza every hour.
Cosatu
Provincial Secretary Monyatso Mahlatsi said during this time there are many
accidents, many assault and shootings and many lives could be saved if
blood can be available.
"We know that
the South African Blood services has always been saying that they have low
blood reserve. We are urging communities to donate blood.” Mahlatsi added.
