The Democratic Alliance on Tuesday reiterated its call for load-shedding to be declared a national crisis.
This is after Eskom announced yesterday
that the possibility of load-shedding has been heightened following the
collapse of four generating units, which have become functional again today.
DA MP of Public Enterprises Natasha Michael
said transparency needs to be demonstrated in the problems facing our power stations.
Michael said Deputy President Cyril
Ramaphosa needs to come clean with the country with current load-shedding
crisis. We’ve been promised that we will be saved from load-shedding for the
festive season but that does not look possible now.
“Now the Deputy President must address the
nation and tell us what we can expect for the festive season going forward in
terms of load-shedding” Michael added.
