The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa says the formation of the new South African Public Service Union is defeating the same principle of uniting the workers of the country.
The union consists of public service unions
who were expelled by the Congress of South African Trade Union.
Former South African Democratic Teachers
Union President Thobile Ntola is the leader of the new union.
Denosa President Simon Hlungwani said DENOSA
is dismayed by the claim made by the former president of South African Democratic
Teachers’ Union, comrade Thobile Ntola that they had engaged DENOSA on
formation of the new public service union.
Hlungwani said DENOSA would like to categorically
distance itself from the formation of this public sector union.
Hlungwani said DENOSA can confirm that it
has never been consulted and it is not party to the formation of a public
sector union as reported.
Hlungwani said in the lack of a better
word, this is misrepresentation of facts in part of DENOSA.
Hlungwani said DENOSA will fight inside and
outside COSATU to ensure unity of the working class.
“The formation of a new public sector union
will be defeating the same principle of uniting the workers of our country
Hlungwani added.
