Eskom says the risk of load-shedding for today and Wednesday is very low however the risk will increase going into the weekend.

The power utilities Khulu Phasiwe said the country’s power system remains very vulnerable.

He emphasised that if anything goes wrong in any of our power station, it will increase the risk of load shedding. However, on Thursday and Friday going towards the weekend, the risk of load shedding is predicted to be high during those particular days.

“More details will follow on Wednesday to say what the prediction is for the weekend,” Phasiwe added.

Last month a coal silo at the Majuba power station collapsed leading to rolling blackouts across the country.
