Eskom says possibility of load-shedding low

Eskom says the risk of load-shedding today and tomorrow is very low however the system is still fragile.

Earlier this week four generators collapsed which heightened the risk of load-shedding in the country, however the generators have since been brought back online.

The power utility has been struggling with power supply due to problems at its power stations and diesel shortage.

Eskom’s Acting Spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe said the power system at the moment is constrained but stable, meaning that if we have any disturbances or if we loose any of our generating units we may have to implement load-shedding.

Phasiwe said we are asking people to continue to use electricity sparingly at all times.
