Five injured in Carletonville collision

Five people were injured this morning after two vehicles collided on the R500 in Carletonville.

When ER24 paramedics arrived, they found one of the vehicles in the middle of the road blocking traffic.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said the second vehicle, a bakkie, was on the side of the road against an embankment.

Meiring said on assessment, paramedic discovered one man from the bakkie and four from the light motor vehicle had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Meiring said Paramedics treated and transported the patients to Western Deep Hospital for further treatment.

"Local authorities were on scene to begin their investigations Meiring added.
