ANC Women’s League President Angie Motshekga has accused the Zulu Nation’s Virginity Testing ritual of being abusive and harmful.

Motshekga argues that the ritual needs to be put to an end as it is harmful for women.

Meanwhile IFP women’s brigade Thembeni kaMadlopha Mthethwa remains adamant that the Zulu ritual is a practise that ensures responsibility on young girls and women.

Mthethwa explains that women who go for virginity testing go there voluntarily. Motshekga needs to come out clearly with evidence of abuse.
