The South African Clothing and Textile Workers Union said it is in the process of opposing liquidation of AJ CMT.

The company employs 197 workers and it signed a provisional liquidation on Wednesday the 09th of this month.

In a statement Sactwu said it will not be bullied by employers when they have presented the management with many alternatives to save the company.

Sactwu’s Co-ordinator in the office of the General Secretary Fachmy Abrahams said we thought it was pre mature that they did not consult all the role players and we made a decision that we are going to oppose the liquidation from the union side on behalf of the employees.

I feel its time goverment really steps in and save the 'dying' industry with its people...too many lives with struggling stories need to come to an end.
We want our textile industry back on its feet again..
