Three people including a child dead on N1 accident in Cape Town

An accident this morning on the N1 highway in Cape Town has left three people, including a two-year-old child dead and five others injured.

Provincial Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said the accident happened just outside Sable Road from the N1 towards Cape Town, there is one single motor vehicle accident.

Africa added that a driver lost control of his vehicle and collided with a lamp post on the side of street across from Canal Walk Shopping Centre. 

"A 27-year-old male, 22-year-old women and a two-year-old kid died in this accident." Africa said.

The circumstances surrounding the accident will be investigated.
