Body of Midmar Mile participator found

The body of the man who went missing while participating in the Midmar Mile over the weekend has been found. 

30-year-old Tristan Dennis was swimming in the company relay race and did not get to the finish line, resulting in an intensive search for him on Saturday. 

The body was found this morning. 

Water Safety Liaison Brad Glasspoole said: “We are at the dam with the family at the moment and they are very grateful that they now have closure on it and that they are able to take processes to the next step.”

Glasspoole continues to say: “From an event point of view we now have a lot of work that we have to do on trying to explain what actually has happened, and to ensure that it doesn’t happen again in the future.”
