Eleven injured in taxi collision

An accident earlier today has left a total of eleven people injured on the M37 in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu Natal.

It is believed that a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided into each other. The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and both light motor vehicles blocking the middle of the road.

Meiring said the occupants from the taxi and light motor vehicle were found sitting around the scene.

Meiring said on assessment, paramedics found that eleven people had sustained only minor injuries in the collision.

Meiring said fortunately no-one had sustained any serious injuries.

Meiring said Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to various hospitals for further observations.

“Local authorities were on scene to begin their investigations” Meiring added.
