Western Cape MEC of Transport and Public Works Donald Grant has called for motorists to be extra vigilant on the roads.

This follows the gruesome accident involving a bus and a truck early this morning near Beaufort West, which left four people dead and 32 injured.

The department has stated that the bus belonging to Eldo Coaches was travelling on the wrong side of the road when the accident occurred.

Ministerial Spokesperson Siphesihle Dube says Minister Grand has urged many road users to note the dangers as we move to the Easter busy period.

Some of the issues that might arrive on the road particularly speed fatigue and access of alcohol abuse and has urged for exreme caution when taking on these busy roads, Dube added.
