Min Mthethwa sends condolences to kwaito star Senyaka Kekana

Minister of Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa has paid tribute to Kwaito Artist and actor Senyaka Kekana who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 58-years-old.

Kekana died at the Kopanong Hospital in Vereeniging following a short illness. Minister Mthethwa has described Kekana as a hardworking, disciplined and focused artist who overcame the hurdles presented by the socio-economic system.

Ministerial Spokesperson Sandile Memela says “Senyaka was widely acknowledged and recognised as one of the most provocative and stylish artist due to his controversial content and basic style of socio cultural commentary.

Memela added that the Minister wishes to offer condolences to his family, to his friends, to his fans and the musical fraternity in general.

Memela added that the Minister believes that he’s legacy lives on because his significant contribution to television production, to comedy, to music and acting in the country.
