Presidency to hold a meeting with business stakeholders

The Presidency has clarified media reports regarding a meeting that Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa had last week with Business Leadership South Africa regarding Eskom.

The Presidency said the meeting was requested by Business Leadership SA in order to help government address the difficulties arising from the constrained supply of electricity and issues at Eskom.

Deputy President’s Spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa says “In a statement issued following that routine, we made it clear that the interaction with Business Leadership South Africa, was one of the series that deputy president Ramaphosa would hold, is key stakeholders to address challenges facing Eskom.”

Mamoepa said in patience of this objective therefore we will provide feedback on wall room intervention at Eskom to the next electrical partner soon.

The wall room and Eskom has held several meetings with stakeholders including Business Unity South Africa which comes as South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry amongst its members, Mamoepa added.
