Three people killed and eleven injured in a taxi accident

An accident this morning on the R40 outside Nelspruit has left three people dead and eleven injured.

This is after the taxi they were travelling in lost control and rolled.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said when ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found a wrecked taxi lying on its wheels on the side of the road. Some of the occupants lay around the vehicle after they had been pulled out by members of the public.

Meiring said on assessment, paramedics discovered the lifeless bodies of two man and one woman lying near the vehicle showing no signs of life. Unfortunately all three patients had already succumbed to their severe injuries.

“Rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the patients before treatment could continue. After they were treated on the scene they were transported to various hospital for the medical care that they required” Meiring added.
